Four mile course laid out by Doug Tilden
Registrants: 151  Runners 142

On November 12, 2016, the Turkey Run was held for the 33th year.  Begun in 1981, the run was held annually in early December except when the Forest was closed because of Hurricane Fran and a freak early December ice storm with widespread loss of power and multiple fallen trees.  More recently, the race has been held in November.  Occasionally a bit warm for running, usually the weather has been clear, cool and crisp as it was on November 12th.  As a sports reporter, Randy Young, commented, “I can report the results, but I cannot report the warm comradery and the smell of freshly baking biscuits.”  Many, many thanks to the donors that provide the prizes, to our volunteers, and to all the runners who participated in the 2016 Turkey Run. The event raised about $1,800.00.
